Quinton and Sadie, a husband and wife team, are passionate about two things in particular. Gin and the Atlantic ocean. When not surfing, swimming or sailing, they are in their distillery creating incredible gins full of botanicals and flavours either foraged from the local area and oceans or sourced from the very finest ingredients. Combining this with characters from local spring water to give their gin an irresistible smoothness.
Papillon were the very first gin producer to hit our shelves, way back in the ‘old days’ in our first tiny shop. Lovingly crafted by Adam and Claire they have grown their wonderful gin distillery into a Devon powerhouse with a range of beautiful gins, including a sloe gin and a navy strength version. Their love of the moorland inspired them to become the first of its kind on Dartmoor and also hosts the inspiration of their name, Papillon, or butterfly. A chunk of all their profits as well as their own voluntary work go toward conservation projects and charities protecting the region’s little critters.
Thunderflower Devon Gin
An old Devon legend says that the tiny white ‘thunder flowers’ that sometimes grow on the thatched cottage roofs and ancient Dartmoor landscape can ward off both lightning and witchcraft. So you might say this gin is not only magical in its protective powers but also in flavour. Created and bottled by hand by Anica and Domicic at their nano-distillery in Teignmouth in the London-Dry style with vapour infusion to retain a smooth finish.
Pentire is a celebration of unique plant life that grows on the surrounding headland close to the North Cornwall roots of creator, Alistair. Designed for those active outdoor folk, looking for a healthier, non-alcoholic drink to enjoy without compromising on flavour. Bound strongly to sustainability and appreciation for nature, Pentire harnesses the immense character and flavour found nestled around the Cornish coast and packs it into this delicious drink.
