We are so happy to announce that we have been awarded a gold award as the best café in the South West as well as a silver award for small visitor attraction of the year!
We are absolutely buzzing (and a tad hungover) this morning as I write this blog! Our super team have just been awarded two, beautiful, Jo Downs Handmade Glass Awards at this year’s South West Tourism Excellence Awards in Exeter.
The team spent the evening (14th of March) at The Great Hall, University of Exeter for this year’s awards evening which saw over 70 entrants walk away with beautiful awards in 25 categories. We hung up our muddy vineyard gear, closed up early and got all dressed up for the glitzy, black tie event. After mingling with the finest hospitality teams in the South West we enjoyed a wonderful evening of fabulous food and an exciting award ceremony.
The Tourism Awards showcase the very best the South West has to offer and covers the whole region from Cornwall and the Scillies all the way up to Gloucester and Dorset. To walk away with a gold award for café/tearoom of the year has simply blown our minds and we are so proud to be thought of as the best café in the South West. We are delighted to have another set of awards for our shelf, following our gold awards at the Devon Tourism awards earlier this year. Congratulations also to Middlewick Farm Shop & Café & Upwey Wishing Well Tearooms – we hear it was a very close call on the judging!
We are also so proud to have been awarded a silver for small visitor attraction of the year. We love showing our wonderful visitors around the vineyard on our tour and tastings throughout the year and welcoming you to our shop and café . It’s just incredible to have received another award, and a huge testament to our wonderful team who have all worked so hard! Massive congratulations to Museum of Dartmoor Life, Northe Fort & Via Ferrata, the other finalists in this category.
The team is celebrating this morning with a mimosa to start the day and you will probably find us grinning away for some time yet.
